"CinemaScope" was the first widescreen projection technique in cinemas, used between 1953 and 1967.
It had an immediate and radical impact on the way that cinema was seen and on attracting audiences. The new format, using 3 projection cameras, made it possible to see a much larger image width on the same screen, guaranteeing not only a more impressive visual effect but above all an enhanced "width and depth" of the story being told, as the projected images began to show more information.
